Inputs and minute-based calculation

Play time is allocated across actual calendar dates; no external game-time database is used.

Calculation result$0.85

Method and interpretation

Cost per hour is only one perspective on value and cannot measure fun or satisfaction. Excluded time cannot exceed recorded time.

Effective playtime = recorded time − idle, menu, and matchmaking wait. Current cost per hour = total spend ÷ effective time; an expected final time gives the same metric at completion.

Why the result can vary

Platform tracking, concurrent running, subscription allocation, and future playtime all affect the result.

Example

A 69,800 purchase played for 82 active hours

Inputs: 69,800 total spend and 82 effective hours

Outcome: Current cost is about 851 per hour. Separately, 493 recorded minus 135 excluded leaves 358 effective hours.

Cautions

  • Reflect refunds and actual transactions manually.
  • This ratio is not financial advice or a replacement for your spending priorities.

Frequently asked questions

Why exclude AFK and menu time?

Platform runtime can include time you were not actively playing, so the calculator reports cost against the effective time you choose to keep.

How should I price a subscription game?

Allocate only the share you consider attributable to this game. Avoid assigning the full same monthly fee to every game.

Is a lower cost per hour always better?

No. It is a ratio of spend to time and does not judge fun, quality, or a memorable experience.
