Formula and assumptions

Use recent real amounts summed across all litter boxes. The result is an inventory forecast that assumes this schedule continues.

Deduct the top-up amount on each top-up day and the full-change amount on each replacement day. If both events share a date, deduct both and find the first point at which stock runs out.

Why the result can vary

Material and density, box count and size, fill depth, elimination frequency, clump size, and cleaning habits change mass consumption.

Example

Combine top-ups and full changes

Inputs: 20L stock, 1L every 4 days, 8L every 28 days

Outcome: Including both amounts when events coincide, the stock lasts about 48 days.

Cautions

  • This calculator does not prescribe litter depth or replacement frequency.
  • Follow product guidance and veterinary advice for hygiene or cat-health concerns.

Frequently asked questions

Can I directly convert litter sold in liters to kilograms?

Not with one universal factor; product densities differ. Use package mass or weigh the litter.

How should I enter multiple litter boxes?

Add the amounts used across every box for one top-up and for one full change, then enter those combined amounts.

What happens when a top-up and full change fall on the same day?

For conservative inventory planning, the calculator deducts both amounts on that date.
