Formula and assumptions

The result covers the one item selected on screen and subtracts its current stock to find the purchase amount. Switch items and calculate each food, pad, litter, or treat separately, then record the results.

Multiply continuous use by the entered trip days. For scheduled items, use a conservative count starting on day one: divide trip days by the interval and round up to a whole number of events. Then apply the extra-use and emergency percentages in sequence.

Why the result can vary

Travel stress, feeding changes, lodging facilities, local availability, delays, and lost supplies can change actual needs.

How do I count departure and return dates?

This calculator accepts trip days rather than dates. Include both calendar dates in the number of days when supplies are needed on both.

What about an item replaced every 30 days?

Scheduled items use a conservative count that starts with one event on day one, avoiding a fractional-item underestimate.

Can I calculate several supplies at once?

Not currently. Select and calculate each item separately, then record the results in your own packing list.
