Formula and assumptions

Start with a realistic usage rate, then enter uncertainty directly under waste or extra use and safety days. Saved items remain in this browser and do not prescribe feeding or replacement standards.

Normalize stock within the same physical dimension, then deduct continuous use and scheduled top-up or replacement events in date order. Subtract shipping and safety-buffer days from depletion for the order date; package size and price add monthly and annual purchasing estimates.

Why the result can vary

Measurement error, spills, waste, season, health, duplicate feeding, delivery delays, and package sizes can shift real use and purchasing dates.

Example

Manage food and litter orders together

Inputs: Food and litter stock, daily or replacement schedule, 3 shipping days, 2 safety days

Outcome: See each depletion date, the earliest safe order date, monthly need, and package cost separately.

Cautions

  • Follow the product label and veterinary guidance for feeding, medication, and hygiene intervals.
  • Increase extra-use percentage and safety days when routines change often.

Frequently asked questions

Is my saved pet pantry sent to a server?

No. Items and inputs saved under My pet pantry stay in this browser. Clearing browser data or changing devices can remove them without recovery, so record important values separately.

Can kilograms and liters be converted directly?

No. Mass and volume require product density, so the calculator converts only within the same physical dimension.

Why can monthly use cost differ from the checkout amount?

Consumption value and the amount required by whole package sizes are different. The calculator labels them separately.
