Formula and assumptions

The simple result assumes equal amounts for every pet. If individual plans differ, add each pet's daily amount and enter that combined rate as a one-pet total.

Total daily amount = pets × daily amount per pet. Divide remaining items by item count per day, or convert remaining mass to a common unit and divide by mass per day.

Why the result can vary

Variation in treat size, crumbs, training frequency, duplicate feeding by household members, and skipped days change actual use.

Example

Check training-treat stock

Inputs: 120 treats, 2 pets, 3 treats per pet per day

Outcome: At 6 treats a day, the stock lasts about 20 days.

Cautions

  • Do not mix count-based and mass-based values in one calculation.
  • Set serving amounts using the product label, main diet, and each pet's health needs.

Frequently asked questions

Should I use count or mass?

Count is convenient for uniform whole treats. Mass is more consistent when pieces vary or treats are cut.

What if each pet receives a different amount?

Add the individual daily amounts, set pet count to one, and enter the combined total as the daily rate.

Does this tell me an appropriate treat amount?

No. It only finds stock duration from the serving amount you choose; it does not assess calories or nutrition.
